Expertise and Points of Contact for Every Phase of Development

Within the BRICS consortium, partners with complementary expertise collaborate across the entire value chain. This ranges from passive and active components, through power modules, inverters, and communication and control systems, to system integration and applications. The partners contribute their respective expertise to the joint development effort. In this way, technological advances at the individual levels are coordinated at an early stage and combined into an integrated overall solution. The project is coordinated by Fraunhofer ISIT.

Fraunhofer ISIT

We develop and manufacture components and systems in the fields of microsystems technology and power electronics—from design and system simulation through prototype and sample production to mass production. These miniaturized components are often only a fraction of a millimeter in size. Key application areas include energy technology, automotive and transportation technology, the consumer goods industry, medical technology, communications technology, and automation technology.

Fraunhofer ISE

Fraunhofer ISE is Europe's largest research institute for solar energy and develops solutions for renewable energy systems, power electronics, and sustainable energy supply.

Fraunhofer IAF

The Fraunhofer IAF is a leading research institute for semiconductor technologies and electronic components, with a strong focus on wide-bandgap semiconductors such as gallium nitride (GaN) and silicon carbide (SiC).
